In the mid-1990's, I saw a Bernese Mountain Dog for the first time. I loved the markings and the size, but not all of the hair. A couple of years later, I saw a Greater Swiss Mountain Dog, and fell in love. A year later, we welcomed our first Swissy. Maximilian quickly became an important family member. He was our heart dog and cemented my love for this fabulous breed. Although he had a myriad of health issues, we were lucky enough to have him for almost 10 years. Shortly before his passing, Trout Creek's Top Hat 'N Tails (aka Ted), entered our lives and became our foundation dog.
Our dogs live with us, play with us, sleep with us, and go to work with us. We enjoy several working dog activities, such showing our dogs in the conformation ring at AKC dog shows, pack hiking for different titles, and most recently have begun obedience training for rally. Additionally, our dogs have all achieved the AKC title of Canine Good Citizen.
